Vulnerability Scanning is an automated discovery process where servers and other systems are examined to see if they are susceptible to known threats.

Vulnerability Management is a manual or automated process of insuring that systems are up to date on patches.  Automated systems typically have reporting features that enable an administrator to monitor the status of all systems being managed.
